The Senior Center

The Senior Center is located in the former Seton Catholic High School on the corner of Court and North Catherine Streets in Plattsburgh. Off street parking is available behind the building, from which you can enter the Center’s upper level. The Center includes a large gymnasium/auditorium, complete with stage, basketball hoops, shuffleboard court and concession area.
An elevator can bring you to the lower level.  There you will find a spacious and comfortable dining room where the Nutrition Program serves lunch 5 days a week and the coffee and tea are always on.  A cozy living room area includes a large screen TV where you can enjoy a movie or playing Wii.  A large computer room adjoins.  The main entrance is on North Catherine, with a side entrance on Court Street.

The Senior Center offers or hosts a variety of recreational and educational programs including art classes, bingo, poker, bridge, 55 Alive Driver Safety, mah jongg, pinochle, French and German language lessons, musical entertainment, Tai Chi, holiday parties, picnics and more.

The Office for the Aging funds some of these activities for registered individuals 60+.  Voluntary contributions are accepted and become part of the Senior Center’s operating budget.

Individuals under 60 and unregistered people of any age who wish to participate in OFA-funded services must pay a guest fee.
Activities that are not OFA funded may have a participation fee.
